Green & Easy: Food Gardening for Everyone
Nothing tastes as good and is as nutritious as produce grown and harvested from your own garden. You control the inputs such as soil amendments, fertilizer, ad pesticides so you know exactly what you are eating. And if your family helps plan and plant the garden, they are more likely to eat the vegetables they've grown. We will look at creating a productive garden from the ground up. Once the garden bed is prepped, we will discuss ways to extend the growing season, maximize productivity and keep plants healthy. Not only will you enjoy the added flavor but the knowledge that you'll be helping reduce energy used to transport vegetables from the farm to the grocery store.

HOME Cooking with Chef Ian Wilsmann
Born and raised in Manitowoc, Ian became passionate with graphic design and the arts at a young age. While being a dishwasher he started seeing similar patterns between the food that he was surrounded with and his art. After years of hand on experience and studying, he knew that the art of blending flavors and plate design is what he wanted for his life and he began his journey to become a chef. In the kitchen, market-fresh ingredients and locally sourced produce are his canvas. He masterfully blends classical recipes with new diverse flavors, while meticulously balancing sweet components with savory nuances.
He studied with some of the most talented chefs which lead him to becoming Executive Chef at the Courthouse Pub where he runs both the aspects of the kitchen and catering business. He has been featured on NBC and CBS morning shows along with being quoted in multiple publications. He has been able to collaborate with the famed wine makers of Meeker Vineyards, Optima, Goldschmidt, and Mondavi.
“Food and art are meant to be shared and enjoyed and I’m looking forward to sharing my craft with you.”
